As a Supply Chain Specialist, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the delivery of submarine maintenance programmes and operational readiness for the Royal Navy. Working within our Supply Chain function, you’ll help develop a clear understanding of complex supplier networks, identify risks, improve resilience and support informed decision‑making across critical defence programmes.
Day‑to‑day you’ll have an exciting opportunity to contribute to national security while developing your expertise in supply chain management, procurement, supplier engagement, data analysis and risk management. You’ll collaborate with colleagues and suppliers across the business, helping to ensure critical materials, services and capabilities are available when they are needed most. Your work will directly support one of the UK’s most important defence programmes and provide excellent opportunities for personal and professional growth.
- Develop and maintain supply chain mapping activities to create a detailed understanding of supplier networks.
- Engage with suppliers and internal stakeholders to collect, validate and analyse supply chain data.
- Identify and assess supply chain risks to support resilience and programme performance.
- Produce reports and insights that support planning, decision‑making and operational delivery.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve supply chain visibility, compliance and effectiveness.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working.
Essential Experience- Understanding of supply chain structures, supplier relationships and supply chain operations.
- Experience working collaboratively across functions to achieve shared objectives.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Ability to analyse data and provide meaningful insights to support business decisions and risk management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Working towards or holding Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply accreditation.
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain a Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and trade control restrictions. Your eligibility for certain roles may be affected by your place of birth, nationality, current or former citizenship, and any residency you hold or have held.
