Description

Ridgecott are looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join them on a part‑time basis, working 20 hours per week.

Ridgecott is a residential service located in Plympton, Devon, providing support for up to 10 adults with autism, learning disabilities, and mental health needs. Conveniently situated with access to a major bus route to Plymouth city centre and close to the A38 (from Exeter) and A386 (from Tavistock).

What you'll be doing

You’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the service and to support the wellbeing of our residents. While your role doesn’t involve providing direct care, your contribution is vital in helping to maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for everyone. Whether you're assisting with day‑to‑day operations, keeping things organised, or ensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays an important part in creating a positive experience for those who live and work here.

  • Carry out general maintenance tasks and repairs to ensure a safe, comfortable, and high‑quality environment.
  • Conduct regular compliance checks (including fire alarms, vehicle checks, and property inspections) in line with company policy and statutory regulations.
  • Perform regular internal and external patrols, monitor building security, and maintain accurate incident logs to protect occupants and the property.
  • Adhere strictly to the Health & Safety at Work Act, identifying and reporting faults while working safely within your certified capabilities.
