Catchment Operator

We are recruiting a Catchment Operator based in Plymouth
. The role is a 12‑month fixed‑term contract with a competitive salary of £27,523
.

Hours are 37 per week, with a 1 in 5‑week standby rota after training is complete.

• Carry out on‑site monitoring of treated wastewater and associated plant to ensure effective site operation and compliance.
• Respond to site conditions and instrument monitoring information to maintain compliance and protect the environment.
• Store and handle chemicals in accordance with COSHH, QMS procedures, and health and safety standards.
• Carry out first‑line maintenance on instruments and mechanical equipment.
• Calibrate equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Use the iSCADA control system, PCs, and other computer hardware/software to perform the role effectively.
• Carry out grounds maintenance.
• Provide accurate and timely feedback of activities completed.
• Adhere to schedules, business rules, and procedures.
• Coordinate with the Area Manager, Catchment Pilot, and Technical Assistants to optimise schedules.
• Coordinate with other Catchment Operators as required.
• Coordinate with Energy Maintenance and other team members to optimise site operation and asset maintenance.
• Deal effectively with customer queries when approached and pass information up the management line, where appropriate.
• Perform regular sampling and testing of internal and external tanker deliveries and critical site control points on the treatment process.

• 5 GCSEs or equivalent in Maths, English, and a science subject.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
