A well-established Secondary School in Plymouth is seeking an experienced and dependable Site Supervisor to join its premises and facilities team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an important operational position responsible for helping to maintain a safe, secure, clean and well-organised school site for students, staff and visitors.

The successful candidate will have a practical and proactive approach and will take pride in maintaining high standards across the school premises. You will work closely with the Site Manager and wider leadership team, helping to ensure that the school operates smoothly on a day-to-day basis.

This is a varied role that requires someone who is comfortable responding to changing priorities, carrying out practical duties and working with contractors and external suppliers when required.

No two days are necessarily the same, so the ability to prioritise tasks and respond appropriately to urgent issues is essential.

• Support the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the school site.
• Carry out regular checks of buildings, grounds and facilities.
• Identify maintenance issues and report them appropriately.
• Undertake minor repairs and practical maintenance tasks where competent.
• Assist with opening and securing school buildings.
• Ensure doors, windows and access points are secure when required.
• Support the management of keys and access arrangements.
• Monitor the general condition of classrooms, corridors, offices and communal areas.
• Assist with setting up rooms for lessons, meetings and school events.
• Move furniture and equipment safely when required.
• Support deliveries and ensure goods are received and stored appropriately.
• Liaise with contractors and external service providers.
• Assist contractors when they are working on site.
• Maintain accurate records of site checks and maintenance issues.
• Support health and safety procedures.
