City College Plymouth - Deputy Principal, Curriculum & Quality Vacancy Description

We are delighted to be working with City College Plymouth, a progressive college that is renowned for its employer‑led technical and vocational provision, aligned to the needs of students, employers and the wider communities across South Devon. To help facilitate this agenda, City College Plymouth is seeking an inspirational Deputy Principal to lead the Curriculum, Quality and Student agenda, as the College continues to invest and expand to sustainably widen participation.

Reporting to the Chief Executive & Principal, you will provide inspiring leadership, development and direction across the College. You will take responsibility and accountability for delivering the strategic targets set by the Governing Board, with a primary focus on developing an outstanding, responsive, adaptable and dynamic curriculum offer that delivers income growth in response to student and employer demand. As a senior postholder and College Nominee, you will drive forward the quality of education to provide the highest possible outcome-focused student experience, whilst leading external relationships with key stakeholders and partners, and deputising for the Chief Executive & Principal as needed.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable evidence of leadership and management in a curriculum and quality-based role within a student‑centric further education‑based organisation. Importantly, the Deputy Principal must be bold, build relationships with consummate ease and have the strategic planning and leadership skills to succeed in a constantly evolving and forward‑thinking college. In addition, you must be able to drive a student‑led agenda, be purposeful in your approach and be an integral part of the leadership team that will shape the long‑term careers of its learners.
