Lead Quantity Surveyor

We’re a forward‑thinking company operating in the fire safety and building services sector. We’re growing, and we need a commercially sharp Lead QS to take ownership of a team and drive profitability across our project portfolio.

This is a genuine leadership position. You’ll manage a commercial team of Junior QS/QS staff and a Commercial Admin, taking full responsibility for cost control and gross profit across your projects.

• Driving GP improvement and hitting contribution margin targets
• Sourcing and negotiating with subcontractors to secure optimal pricing
• Creating Bills of Materials and managing project budgets
• Producing monthly valuations and invoices for clients
  
  Managing cash flow and keeping debtor days tight
• Mentoring and developing your team
• Building strong relationships with Project Managers and clients

You’ll have real decision‑making authority on day‑to‑day commercial matters, with support from senior leadership when you need it.

• Proven QS experience with some team leadership under your belt
• Strong commercial instinct and negotiation skills
• Experience in fire safety, construction, or building services (preferred)
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field (preferred)
• MRICS or working towards (advantageous)
• Someone who takes ownership and sees things through
