Job DescriptionThe Preventative Maintenance Technician (Moulding) reports to the Moulding Planned Maintenance Leader and is responsible for executing and optimizing preventative maintenance routines on injection moulding machines and ancillary equipment. The role includes ownership of planned maintenance cycles, shutdown coordination, and collaboration with Production, Engineering and Stores to ensure effective delivery of maintenance plans.
Key Responsibilities- Comply with Good Manufacturing Procedures, safe working practices and high standards of housekeeping in all areas where machine maintenance is undertaken.
- Ensure statutory legislation and quality system requirements are adhered to regarding process changes and equipment modification.
- Be prepared to respond to emergencies by working overtime as required by the Moulding Planned Maintenance Leader.
- Establish clear written maintenance procedures for each machine, including checklists and maintenance intervals.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained as assigned, per the appropriate schedule, plan or work instruction.
- Maintain spares records to facilitate replenishment and cost control.
- Coach, mentor and train maintenance associates to use logical root cause analysis during resolution of mould machine issues.
- Ensure containment, corrective and preventative measures are implemented.
- Identify cost reduction opportunities and process improvements to deliver the PM maintenance plan.
- Ensure resource requirements are captured within the budget cycle.
- Carry out any additional duties required to support the needs of the business.
- Time served as an apprenticeship or equivalent preferred.
- ONC or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
- Experience with in a high-volume injection moulding environment.
- Experience performing duties associated with mould machine maintenance and repair.
- Experience in training and developing individuals.
- Experience with SAP or other maintenance systems.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques.
- Ability to work to engineering drawings.
- Strong planning and organisational skills.
- Root cause analysis capability.
- Strong communication skills.
- IT literacy including SAP.
- Strong safety and quality focus.

G Plymouth – Belvoir Industrial Estate. Salary range: £25,000 – £38,125 per annum.
