Key Responsibilities Operate and maintain a range of sheet metal fabrication machinery, including laser cutters, press brakes, panel benders and punch presses Set up and adjust machinery in line with job specifications and technical drawings Ensure production targets are met while maintaining high-quality standards Conduct inspections and quality checks to ensure components meet required tolerances Carry out routine machine maintenance, including cleaning and basic servicing Report faults, breakdowns, or process issues promptly to supervision Accurately complete production and quality documentation Identify, report, and help control defects Collaborate closely with the wider manufacturing team Contribute to continuous improvement in quality, efficiency, and performance Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment Undertake additional duties as required Health, Safety & Compliance Adhere to all Health & Safety procedures to ensure personal and team safety Comply with Quality Management System (QMS) standards Minimise environmental impact in all work activities Take ownership of tasks to ensure they are completed accurately and on time Requirements Education GCSE level or equivalent Experience Previous experience as a Machine Setter / Operator, ideally within a sheet metal fabrication environment Experience operating laser cutting machines, press brakes, or similar equipment is highly desirable Skills & Competencies Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and job specifications Strong understanding of metal cutting processes and tolerances Knowledge of machine setup, operation and basic troubleshooting High attention to detail and commitment to quality Proactive, can-do attitude with a strong work ethic Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Strong organisational and prioritisation skills Clear and effective communication skills at all levels Good interpersonal skills Forklift licence (desirable but not essential) Whats on Offer Opportunity to work on high-end projects Modern, well-equipped manufacturing environment Supportive team culture with a focus on continuous improvement
