Position Overview

Precision Technician/Engineer – Plymouth

Up to £60,736 dependant on experience (incl. night shift premium) + Bonus Scheme + Overtime + 33 days holiday (Bank Holidays included) + Pension + Extra Benefits

Excellent opportunity for a skilled engineering professional with machining and tooling experience to join a market‑leading international manufacturer, working on a range of precision tooling, fixtures and production support activities while developing your career in a highly technical environment.

The company is a well-established, highly revered manufacturing company in the Plymouth area with sites across the world that is renowned for the quality of their products and for being a leading and progressive employer.

In this role your duties will include repairing press tooling, jigs, fixtures and machine parts, creating and commissioning new jigs and fixtures, assisting with new product introduction, implementing continuous improvement techniques.

• Design, fabricate and commission new jigs and fixtures to support production processes.
• Maintain production tooling, jigs and fixtures.
• Support new product introductions, ensuring equipment and processes meet operational requirements.
• Analyse tooling issues and root causes, developing effective PPM and TPM activities.
• Record all maintenance activities within the CMMS.
• Day shift, 7am to 3pm.
• £19.21 – £21.96 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.

• Apprenticeship as Mechanical Fitter, Machinist or Toolmaker or relevant NVQ Level 3/BTEC Level 3.
• Proficiency in CNC lathe, CNC mill and surface grinding.
• Experience in AutoCAD, 3D modelling or Inventor would be advantageous.
• TIG/JIG welding would be advantageous.
