As the Production Supervisor , your responsibilities will include:
Providing day-to-day leadership and supervision of the Production team across shifts, including setting the team up for the day with clear briefings, prioritisation of work, and ensuring goals and targets are achieved throughout the shift Monitoring performance in real time, addressing issues promptly, and driving safety, quality, delivery, and continual improvement Ensuring production targets are met while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS) Collaborating closely with Quality, Engineering, and other Production teams to troubleshoot issues, resolve machining or process concerns, and implement corrective actions Overseeing CNC machining operations, supporting First Article Inspection (FAI) requirements, and ensuring adherence to industry standards such as AS9100 Driving 5S standards and workplace organisation on the shop floor Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives using tools such as 8D, Kaizen, and other lean manufacturing methodologies Acting as a reliable point of contact for other departments and supporting the Production Manager with departmental initiatives Providing feedback, coaching, and development support to team members As the Production Supervisor you will bring:
Essential Proven experience leading or supervising production/quality teams in a CNC machining environment within a precision engineering or similarly regulated industry (e.g. aerospace) Strong understanding of CNC machining processes and the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T principles Natural leadership aptitude with excellent communication, people management, and teamwork skills Strong attention to detail, analytical problem-solving ability, and a professional approach Experience working within formal quality and production management systems Desirable Previous supervisory or team leader experience in precision machining Relevant management or health & safety qualifications (e.g. IOSH, ACAS, CMI) Engineering qualifications (e.g. Apprenticeship, HNC, or equivalent) Familiarity with metrology, SPC, and continuous improvement methodologies Shift Patterns (Overtime available when required) Day Shift (no premium):
