We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter to join a busy manufacturing and engineering team on a contract basis. This is a hands‑on role involving the assembly of large mechanical components and equipment, working from technical drawings and following established manufacturing procedures.

The position would suit an experienced Mechanical Fitter with strong mechanical assembly skills who enjoys a varied and physically active working environment.

• Mechanical assembly of components and sub‑assemblies using hand and pneumatic tools
• Working from technical drawings and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Drilling, tapping and reaming components to required specifications
• Installation of solid and pop rivets
• Fitting rivet nuts and helicoils
• Carrying out quality checks throughout the assembly process
• Handling and manoeuvring large components safely
• Maintaining a clean and organised work area
• Following all health and safety procedures

To be successful in this Mechanical Fitter role, you will have experience of:

• Mechanical assembly within a manufacturing or engineering environment
• Using hand tools, drills and pneumatic tooling
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings
• Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Drilling, tapping and reaming
• Installing rivets (solid and pop rivets)
• Fitting rivet nuts and helicoils

• £15.61 per hour
