Collins Aerospace (a Raytheon Technologies company) is seeking a Systems Engineer for a hybrid role based in Plymouth, UK. The role focuses on designing, integrating, and validating complex embedded systems for both air and surface applications.
Key Responsibilities- Work with customers and key stakeholders to understand and capture system level use cases, concept of operations and requirements.
- Develop the system architecture.
- Interface with stakeholders across Systems, Software, Electrical, and Mechanical engineering and develop requirement specifications for each component of the system.
- Support system integration for real‑time embedded systems, including hardware/software interfaces.
- Ensure requirement‑to‑requirement and requirement‑to‑test traceability throughout the design.
- Develop test cases and procedures against the requirements and execute tests.
- Apply logical and innovative problem‑solving across software, hardware, and system levels.
- Provide inputs to project planning, estimations and progress reporting.
- Exposure to cutting‑edge navigation and sensing technologies.

- Demonstrated experience as a Systems Engineer covering the full development lifecycle.
- Strong requirements analysis and management skills.
- Experience with architectural design and decomposition.
- Experience creating test plans, test cases and procedures and executing test programmes.
- Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS (or Jama or similar).
- Familiarity with version control systems (SVN, Git, Teamwork Cloud).
- Experience with SysML tools such as EA (or Cameo).
- Ability to read and interpret schematics.
- Data analysis experience.
- Control systems engineering experience.
- Digital signal processing experience.
- Experience with platforms that utilise inertial sensors and associated requirements.
- Experience using COTS test equipment in a lab environment (oscilloscopes, bus analysers, etc.).
- Experience with hardware in the loop test, MATLAB.
