Registered Nurse – Day Surgery, Plymouth

Salary: £34,704.30 per year. Permanent, full‑time 37.5 hours per week. One Saturday shift per month, 06:45–19:00. Other shifts may vary weekly between 07:00–17:30 or 06:45–19:00.

We are looking for a Nurse to join our close knit, collaborative team in a CQC‑rated Good hospital in picturesque Plymouth. The role involves basic ward duties, overseeing new patient admissions, completing key documentation, and introducing patients to the care team. Work is planned to provide a predictable schedule.

You will liaise with the wider Practice Plus Group medical team to ensure that patient treatment is carried out while safeguarding patient confidentiality.

What you’ll be doing
  • Deliver a high standard of patient care supported by evidence‑based practice.
  • Ensure nursing is practised within the constraints of and guided by Department of Health legislation, Health and Social Care Act 2012, NMC Code of Professional Conduct, Care Quality Commission standards, NICE guidelines, and Group policies and procedures.
  • Follow unit‑specific policies and procedures.
What we’ll look for in you Education & Qualifications
  • Essential
    : NMC Registered Nurse Part 1.
  • Desirable
    :
    Immediate Life Support (ILS) and Orthopaedic qualification.
Experience
  • Recent post‑registration experience or completion of a preceptorship.
  • Experience in an orthopaedic ward is an advantage.
