Position: Quality Engineer (Part-Time)

Overview

We are BD, one of the largest global medical technology companies. Advancing the world of health is our purpose. We seek an experienced Quality Engineer to join our quality team within a plant of 800+ employees. This is a part-time position. The Quality Engineer will oversee all operational aspects of the quality system, enhance operational efficiency on the manufacturing floor, manage non-conforming materials, and drive continuous improvement through effective change management.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including ISO 13485 and CFR Part 820.
  • Monitor and maintain the quality system, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Conduct product complaint investigations and manage corrective actions from implementation to closure.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor procedures and policies to ensure adherence to standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain to achieve organizational performance goals.
  • Utilize lean manufacturing techniques to reduce waste and improve operational efficiency.
  • Identify and propose improvements to existing procedures to enhance efficiency.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to drive project success.
Preferred Requirements
  • Degree in Science or Engineering discipline (preferred).
  • Proven experience in a regulated environment, ideally within pharmaceutical, aerospace, or medical device manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ISO 13485, CFR Part 820, or equivalent regulations and standards.
  • Strong understanding of Quality Assurance principles and methodologies in a regulated setting.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Minitab, or similar statistical analysis tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and manage multiple priorities.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary range for the role: £14,000 - £27,000 + benefits.
