Do you enjoy driving continuous improvement, leading audits, and working with stakeholders across an organisation to improve quality, compliance, and operational performance? We are recruiting for a Quality Management System (QMS) Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing organisation in Plymouth.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and developing the company's ISO 9001-certified Quality Management System while supporting wider business improvement initiatives during an exciting phase of growth for the business.

The Role Reporting to the Quality Engineering Manager, you will take responsibility for maintaining, developing and continuously improving the Quality Management System across the business. Working closely with colleagues across multiple departments, you will provide guidance on quality best practice, support compliance activities, and drive improvements that enhance efficiency, quality and customer satisfaction. Key responsibilities will include:
Maintaining and improving the Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001 requirements and business objectives Planning and conducting internal quality and process audits Supporting external certification, customer and supplier audits Investigating non-conformances and leading root cause analysis activities Managing corrective and preventive actions through to completion Leading structured problem-solving activities using methodologies such as 8D, 5 Whys, FMEA and Ishikawa Developing, monitoring and reporting on quality and business KPIs Creating and maintaining procedures, work instructions, process maps and controlled documentation Conducting gap analyses and implementing process improvements with key stakeholders Promoting a culture of quality, continuous improvement and operational excellence About You To be successful in this role, you will ideally have: ISO Internal Auditor qualification Proven experience maintaining and improving ISO-based Quality Management Systems within a manufacturing or engineering environment Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001

Experience of root cause analysis, 8D investigations and problem-solving methodologies Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma principles Experience conducting internal audits and managing corrective actions Strong analytical skills with experience developing and reporting KPIs Experience using ERP systems and business management software Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Strong Microsoft 365 and Excel skills Desirable experience includes: HNC in Engineering or a related discipline ISO 9001 Lead Auditor qualification Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001

Experience with Power BI, SharePoint, Azure Dev Ops or similar business systems

Experience with in a highly regulated manufacturing or engineering environment Knowledge of New Product Introduction (NPI) processes What's on Offer?
