About Picker

Picker is an Oxford-based charity with an international reputation for measuring and improving patient experience. Our mission is to make person-centred health and social care a reality for everyone. We work with NHS organisations, government bodies, charities and healthcare providers in the UK and internationally.

About the role

The Research Associate will support the design, development and management of large-scale quantitative survey projects, ensuring high-quality outputs that meet client and stakeholder needs.

Working within our Survey Coordination Centre, you will help deliver some of the largest healthcare surveys in the world, supporting survey design, project management, data handling, analysis and reporting. You will work closely with clients and stakeholders, manage complex datasets, contribute to proposal writing, and help communicate research findings to a range of audiences.

Skills and experience

We are looking for someone with:

  • Experience of quantitative research, including questionnaire design, survey methods, data handling and reporting.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate complex findings clearly.
  • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience of building effective relationships with clients, stakeholders and colleagues.
  • A degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline.

Knowledge of statistical software such as SPSS, Stata, R or SAS and an interest in healthcare research would be advantageous.

If you're passionate about using research to improve health and care services and want to work on high-profile national survey programmes, we'd love to hear from you.
