Our client is a growing provider of supported accommodation for young people and is looking for a confident and motivated Deputy Manager to join their team in Plymouth. Supporting young people aged 16-17, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to help ensure the service is safe, well-led and focused on achieving positive outcomes for the young people in its care.

This is a hands-on management position offering the opportunity to make a genuine difference while developing your career within children's services.

The Role Working alongside the Registered Manager, you will support the effective day-to-day running of the service and deputise in their absence. Key responsibilities will include:
Providing visible and supportive leadership to Team Leaders and Support Workers. Promoting high standards of safeguarding, care and child-centred practice. Supporting staff through supervision, development, team meetings and performance management. Monitoring support plans, risk assessments, records and overall quality of practice. Supporting audits, quality assurance and continuous service improvement. Responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns, incidents and challenging situations. Helping young people develop independence, confidence and essential life skills.

Building strong relationships with social workers, Local Authorities, education providers and other professionals. Supporting Ofsted readiness and maintaining high standards across the service. Assisting with recruitment, induction, training and staff development. Supporting staffing levels, rotas and the day-to-day operational management of the service. Participating in the management on-call rota when required. About You We're looking for someone who is experienced, approachable and confident in leading others.

You may currently be working as a:
Deputy Manager Team Leader Senior Support Worker Senior Practitioner Children's Residential Practitioner Supported Accommodation professional Leaving Care or young people's services professional You'll ideally have experience working with children or young people, together with a strong understanding of safeguarding, risk management and promoting positive outcomes. You'll also have: A relevant Level 3 qualification in Children & Young People, Residential Childcare, Health & Social Care or equivalent.

Experience supervising or supporting other members of staff. Experience contributing to support plans, risk assessments, audits or quality assurance. Strong communication, organisational and leadership skills. A commitment to promoting young people's independence, safety and wellbeing. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Experience with in supported accommodation, Ofsted-regulated services, working with 16-17-year-olds or a Level 5 management qualification would be advantageous. However, strong candidates with transferable children's services experience are encouraged to apply.
