We have an exciting opportunity to join our world‑class digital team. As a Full‑Stack Developer you'll be involved in the entire project lifecycle, from early concept and technical design through to build, deployment and ongoing refinement. Reporting to the Head of Development you'll play a critical role in our team's digital output.
Our Digital Centre of Excellence is Devon‑based, and we provide the opportunity for candidates to work between our creative and collaborative space in the centre of Plymouth and from home.
What you’ll be doing- Designing, building and maintaining robust, scalable full‑stack solutions across front‑end and back‑end technologies
- Translating creative and functional requirements into secure, performant, user‑centred digital experiences
- Implementing responsive, accessible interfaces alongside reliable server‑side logic and integrations
- Contributing to technical solution design and supporting the creation of technical documentation where needed
- Integrating with content management systems, APIs, databases and third‑party services
- Ensuring development standards, best practices and agreed methodologies are followed consistently
- Collaborating closely with Designers, Project Managers and other Developers to deliver high‑quality work on time and within budget
- Supporting deployment, monitoring and ongoing optimisation of live solutions
Exploring and applying new tools, technologies and approaches to improve quality and efficiency.
What you’ll need to have Essential skills:- Experience across both front‑end and back‑end development
- 3+ years of experience building and consuming APIs and integrating front‑end and back‑end systems
- Experience with server‑side development
, ideally using technologies such as Node.js, .NET, ASP.NET, PHP or similar - Understanding of data persistence
, including working with databases and data models - Experience being on call for bugs or other issues that may arise during a sprint across multiple concurrent projects
- Problem‑solving skills with the ability to design pragmatic, creative technical solutions
- Experience using analytics and performance monitoring tools such as Google Analytics
- Clear experience communicating updates and resolutions to customers and other partners with the ability to work with both technical and non‑technical team members
- Experience with cloud platforms
, such as Microsoft Azure - Familiarity with Dev Ops practices
, CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows - Understanding of security, scalability and performance considerations in full‑stack applications
- Experience contributing to technical decisions in discovery or pitch phases
