Job Description

The Director of Graduate Programs provides strategic leadership and oversight for graduate student services within the College of Business. This position is responsible for managing graduate advising, recruitment, admissions coordination, and student success initiatives while supporting program quality, enrollment growth, retention, and timely degree completion.

The Director of Graduate Programs collaborates closely with faculty, program directors, and administrative units to enhance graduate program delivery, support accreditation and assessment efforts, and ensure a high-quality, student-centered experience across all graduate programs.

Travel is required for this position (Approximately 1-3 days per week during recruiting seasons, including overnight stays.)

This position is not eligible for new visa sponsorship at this time. Candidates who already hold valid U.S. work authorization may be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Graduate Program Leadership & Strategy

  • Provide leadership for College of Business graduate programs and student services, supporting enrollment, retention, student progression, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Dean, Associate Dean, faculty, and department leadership on curriculum, program needs, strategic initiatives, and fall, spring, and summer course scheduling.
  • Advise on graduate curriculum, catalog requirements, degree pathways, course substitutions, and institutional policies. Participate in committees related to graduate education and serve on the Graduate Faculty Committee.

Admissions, Recruitment & Advising

  • Lead graduate recruitment and admissions, including recruitment activities, application processes, prospective student communication, campus visits, and outreach events.
  • Oversee graduate advising throughout the student lifecycle, including onboarding, academic planning, study plans, petitions, appeals, overrides, degree audits, graduation checks, and teach-out plans.
  • Develop communication and onboarding strategies supporting registration, engagement, retention, timely progression, and degree completion.
  • Collaborate with Admissions and Marketing and Communication on targeted recruitment strategies for domestic, international, online, and other priority groups.

Accreditation, Assessment & Operations

  • Support accreditation and program review through graduate program data collection, reporting, documentation, and analysis of enrollment, retention, progression, and student outcomes.
  • Supervise graduate assistants, including selection input, onboarding, training, and assignment coordination.
  • Oversee graduate scholarship administration and operational processes supporting graduate programs.
  • Serve as liaison with the Graduate School, Admissions, Registrar, Financial Aid, Scholarship Office, and other campus partners.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree from a regionally accredited university.
  • Four years of experience in academic advising, student services, or a related field within higher education.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational management and human relation skills.
  • Efficient with technology (Word, Excel, Google Docs).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Solid working knowledge of student development, academic advising, and student services within a higher education setting.
  • Three years of experience with student recruitment in a higher education setting.
Additional Information

Salary will be between $67,000 and $72,000 per year,commensurate with education and experience.
