Overview
Dean|Fluor is seeking an Environmental Safety and Health Officer.

Responsibilities
- Oversee and serve as the technical resource for determining Operations and Maintenance risk analysis within the Operational Risk Management Program.
- Review contract safety specifications and incorporate requirements into the Accident Prevention Plan (APP).
- Assist in developing project safety plans, budgets, safety supplies, training materials, and related costs.
- Review applicable regulatory requirements and address deficiencies in the current safety program.
- Develop and demonstrate knowledge of site ESH training programs and materials.
- Conduct inspections and audits; participate in field inspections and meetings to communicate inspection results and corrective actions.
- Participate in safety briefings with project personnel to confirm understanding of Safety and Health (S&H) requirements, including morning, evening, and weekend shifts.
- Lead incident investigations when necessary.
- Stop work immediately in Dangerous to Life or Health (IDLH) situations and review recovery plans before resuming work.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Health and Safety or a related field with 8+ years of experience; or a Master of Science with 6+ years of experience. Candidates with a master electrician's license, experience, and safety certifications (STS, CHST, etc.) may also be considered.
- Significant experience in general industry.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
- Attention to detail in task completion.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to walk/stand for extended periods and traverse various terrains on-site, including outdoors in various weather conditions.
Desired Skills
- Environmental experience is highly desired.
- Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification.
- NFPA 70E certification.
This position is considered sensitive and may require extensive background screening to meet contract and government requirements. Applicants and employees may need to meet specific background eligibility criteria.
