Management Accountant

Are you a hands-on, commercially minded Management Accountant or FP&A Analyst who thrives in a manufacturing environment? We’re supporting a fast-growing business based near Pocklington to recruit a proactive and technically strong Management Accountant to take ownership of the management accounts, lead product costing, and deliver high-quality commercial insight.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant who enjoys getting under the skin of costing, business partnering with operations, and driving meaningful financial improvements in a dynamic SME.

The Role

As Management Accountant, you will play a key role in shaping financial performance and supporting the next phase of growth. Your responsibilities will include:

* Preparing accurate, timely monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, cashflow, KPIs) with strong balance sheet control.

* Managing intercompany and foreign currency transactions

* Owning and improving product costing, including BOMs, labour, overhead absorption and material pricing.

* Partnering with Engineering, Operations and Procurement to maintain robust standard costs and ensure accurate system reflection.

* Analysing stock valuation, ageing and stock turns, highlighting risks and supporting inventory decisions.

* Supporting budgeting and reforecasting, producing insightful commercial analysis across sales, margin, profitability and working capital KPIs.

* Providing proactive support to the Finance Director and wider operational teams, offering technical guidance where needed.

About You

We’re looking for someone who brings a blend of technical strength, commercial curiosity and a practical, hands-on approach.

You will have:

* Proven experience in a manufacturing and costing-focused finance role.

* Strong understanding of cost accounting, variance analysis and inventory management.

* Confidence working in a fast-paced, growing SME environment.

* Proficiency with accounting systems (Sage, Xero, Quick Books) and advanced Excel skills.

* Excellent attention to detail, organisation and the ability to work independently.

* Qualified Accountant through CIMA, ACCA or ACA.
