Kingston Recruitment are delighted to be working with an established and successful owner‑managed group of companies who are looking to appoint an experienced, hands‑on Financial Controller into a newly created role. As part of their long‑term succession planning, this position will play a key role within the senior management team, operating from the company’s Head Office in Pocklington. With a strong track record and several major projects now coming to fruition, the business is entering an exciting new phase of growth and development.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded accounting professional who can provide robust financial planning, control and insight, ensuring business plans are fully supported and profitability and efficiency are maximised across the group.

• Full ownership of day‑to‑day accounting activities, including invoicing, cashflow management and banking
• Preparation of monthly management accounts
• Processing weekly and monthly payroll
• Completion of CIS returns
• Producing detailed cost analysis reports for senior management
• Budget preparation, forecasting and reporting against targets
• Posting journals, accruals and prepayments
• Managing petty cash
• Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns
• Driving continuous improvement across financial processes and systems

• Proven hands‑on accounting experience, from invoicing through to year‑end
• Previous experience working within an owner‑managed business
• Construction industry experience advantageous but not essential
• Part‑qualified or fully qualified in a recognised accountancy qualification
• Working knowledge of Sage
• A proactive, trusted finance professional comfortable operating at senior management level
