About the Role

We’ve partnered with a respected, mission-driven organization in the health and human services sector to hire a Human Resources Director. This is a hands‑on leadership role overseeing HR operations, employee relations, compliance, and people processes across a multi‑site environment of 400+ employees.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys making decisions, supporting managers, strengthening HR structure, and staying close to the day‑to‑day people operations.

What You’ll Lead
  • Oversee all HR functions: employee relations, compliance, HR policies, benefits, HRIS, and performance management
  • Lead and develop a team of four HR professionals
  • Manage employee relations across multiple sites, ensuring strong communication, documentation, and fair outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with NJ labor laws, federal regulations, and internal policies
  • Partner with leadership on staffing, organizational planning, employee experience, and culture
  • Guide benefits administration, leave management (FMLA/ADA), and onboarding/offboarding processes
  • Work closely with Finance and Operations on HR data, reporting, and organizational needs
  • Maintain HRIS accuracy (ADP preferred) and support system improvements
What You Bring
  • 5+ years of HR leadership experience
  • Strong employee relations + compliance background
  • Experience supporting 300+ employees
  • HRIS proficiency (ADP strongly preferred)
  • Experience managing a small HR team
  • Bachelor's required;
    Master’s preferred
  • SPHR or SHRM‑SCP required
  • Experience in nonprofit, healthcare, social services, or similar environments is a plus
  • Ability to work onsite daily
