Senior Accountant - Financial Reporting

Our client is seeking a highly competent and experienced Senior Accountant to strengthen their finance team in Polokwane . This role is central to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial reporting, with a focus on compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). You will be involved in the preparation of financial statements, month-end and year-end close processes, and the analysis of financial data.

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Manage and execute the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all entries are accurate and timely.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate any discrepancies.
• Assist in the preparation of statutory returns and tax computations.
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Develop and maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting processes.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and systems.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; a professional accounting qualification (e.g., CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA) is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in accounting, with a strong focus on financial reporting and IFRS.
• Proven experience with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• In-depth knowledge of IFRS and South African accounting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
