- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost planning for projects.
- Manage project costs and monitor expenditure against budgets.
- Prepare and evaluate tenders, contracts, and procurement documentation.
- Assess and certify contractor payment claims and variations.
- Manage contract administration in accordance with relevant forms of contract.
- Identify and manage project risks and cost deviations.
- Prepare financial reports, cash flow forecasts, and final accounts.
- Ensure compliance with contractual, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Registration or eligibility for registration with a recognised professional body (e.g. SACQSP).
- 3–5 years’ experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal in Afrikaans and English.
- Sound knowledge of construction methods, contracts, and cost management.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness.
- Proficiency in measurement, estimating, and cost management software.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
