Senior Construction Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly organized and analytical Senior Construction Planner to join their team in Polokwane . You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing detailed construction schedules for complex projects, ensuring timely and efficient project delivery. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong proficiency in planning software, and a deep understanding of construction processes. You will collaborate closely with project managers, site teams, and stakeholders to create realistic and achievable project timelines, identifying potential risks and proactively implementing mitigation strategies.

• Develop, monitor, and update detailed construction master schedules using advanced planning software, incorporating all project phases and activities.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to gather input for schedule development and identify critical path activities.
• Analyze project progress against the baseline schedule, identifying variances and developing corrective actions to keep projects on track.
• Conduct constructability reviews and risk assessments related to scheduling, providing recommendations for improvement.
• Prepare schedule-related reports, forecasts, and presentations for project teams and senior management.
• Ensure coordination between different trades and disciplines to optimize sequencing and resource allocation throughout the construction process.

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in construction planning and scheduling, preferably on large-scale projects.
• Proficiency in construction scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequences, and durations.
