Junior Construction Estimator

About the Role

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Junior Construction Estimator to join their team in Polokwane . This entry-level position is ideal for an individual with a foundational understanding of construction and a strong desire to develop expertise in cost estimation. You will assist senior estimators in preparing accurate bids and cost proposals for various construction projects. This role involves analyzing blueprints, gathering material and labor costs, and collaborating with project managers to ensure competitive and profitable proposals.

Working in a hybrid model, you will have opportunities for both in-office learning and remote work, contributing to the company's success in the Limpopo province.

• Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, material, and equipment costs.
• Review blueprints, specifications, and other construction documents to identify project scope and requirements.
• Gather quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for materials and services.
• Maintain and update estimating databases and cost records.
• Collaborate with project managers and sales teams to ensure accurate and competitive bids.
• Perform take-offs for materials and quantities from project plans.

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of construction methods, materials, and terminology.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration.
