Senior Project Manager - Construction

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager with extensive experience in the construction industry to join their team in Polokwane. This role is vital for overseeing the successful planning and execution of significant construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will lead project teams, manage subcontractors, and liaise with clients and regulatory bodies.

• Lead the end-to-end management of large-scale construction projects from inception to handover.
• Develop and implement detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Oversee site operations, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and quality control standards.
• Manage subcontractor performance, contract negotiations, and relationship management.
• Conduct regular progress meetings with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, addressing challenges proactively to ensure successful outcomes.

• A minimum of 9 years of progressive experience in construction project management.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex building or infrastructure projects.
• In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and building codes.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Architecture.
• Professional certifications such as PMP or Pr. Eng are advantageous.
