About the Role
Our client is looking for a seasoned Construction Manager to oversee the execution of diverse civil infrastructure projects in and around Polokwane . This role requires a proactive leader adept at managing site operations, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. You will be responsible for coordinating all on-site activities, managing labor and subcontractors, and liaising with engineers and clients to ensure project objectives are met.
This is a critical role for a hands-on professional dedicated to delivering successful infrastructure outcomes.
- Direct and manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality specifications.
- Supervise and coordinate the work of subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labor force.
- Implement and enforce strict health and safety protocols on site, conducting regular safety inspections.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential delays or issues, and implement corrective actions promptly.
- Manage site logistics, equipment, and material procurement to ensure efficient project flow.
- Act as the primary point of contact for site-related matters, liaising with project engineers, clients, and regulatory bodies.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management, with a significant focus on civil infrastructure projects .
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction sites and complex projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and relevant South African building regulations.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and techniques.
