About the Role

Our client requires a skilled Mechanical Engineer to contribute to significant projects within the energy sector, based in Polokwane. This role involves the design, analysis, and implementation of mechanical systems for power generation, renewable energy, or related infrastructure. You will work on diverse projects, ensuring the efficiency, safety, and reliability of mechanical components and systems. • Design and specify mechanical equipment and systems for energy projects, including rotating machinery and piping systems.
• Perform engineering calculations for stress, thermal, and fluid dynamics analysis.
• Develop technical specifications, P&IDs, and project documentation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical, civil, and process engineers.
• Ensure designs comply with industry codes, standards, and safety regulations relevant to the energy sector.
• Support the procurement, installation, and commissioning phases of mechanical systems.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the energy sector or related heavy industry.
• Proven experience in the design and analysis of mechanical systems for power generation or renewable energy.
• Familiarity with industry codes such as ASME, API, and relevant safety standards.
• Proficiency in CAD software and engineering analysis tools.
