Senior Transportation Civil Engineer

Our client is seeking a highly accomplished Senior Transportation Civil Engineer to enhance their specialized team in Polokwane . This role is critical for the planning, design, and management of transportation infrastructure projects, including roads, highways, and public transport systems. You will lead project teams, liaise with stakeholders, and ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation solutions. This hybrid role allows for essential site assessments and project coordination alongside office-based design and planning, contributing to the development of vital infrastructure within the Limpopo province.

• Lead the design and development of transportation infrastructure projects such as roadways, intersections, and interchanges.
• Conduct traffic studies, demand forecasting, and capacity analyses.
• Prepare comprehensive design reports, geometric design drawings, and construction specifications.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and consultant coordination for transportation projects.
• Ensure designs comply with national and provincial transportation standards and environmental regulations.
• Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Transportation Engineering.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in transportation engineering design and project management.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration with ECSA is essential.
• Proficiency in transportation engineering software like VISSIM, SIDRA, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
• Proven experience in managing complex transportation projects from concept to completion.
• Strong understanding of traffic engineering principles and South African road design standards.
