Mechanical Engineer - HVAC Systems

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer with expertise in HVAC systems to join their team in Polokwane . This hybrid role involves designing, analyzing, and implementing efficient and effective heating, ventilation, and air conditioning solutions for various projects. You will collaborate with architects, project managers, and other engineers to ensure optimal system performance and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of thermal sciences and airflow dynamics, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable engineering solutions.

• Design and specify HVAC systems, including air handling units, ductwork, piping, and control systems.
• Perform load calculations, energy modeling, and system simulations to optimize performance and energy efficiency.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications for HVAC installations.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure seamless integration of HVAC systems with other building services.
• Conduct site visits for system verification and troubleshooting during installation and commissioning phases.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes, standards, and environmental regulations.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in the design and analysis of HVAC systems.
• Proficiency with HVAC design software (e.g., Revit MEP, AutoCAD) and psychrometric analysis tools.
• Knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer principles.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to manage project tasks effectively.
