About the Role
Our client, a dynamic engineering consultancy based in Polokwane , is seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer with a strong focus on Structural Design . You will be responsible for leading the structural engineering aspects of various building and infrastructure projects throughout Limpopo . This role involves complex structural analysis, design of building frames, foundations, and associated structures, ensuring all designs meet rigorous safety and building code requirements.
You will collaborate closely with architects and other disciplines, provide technical guidance, and manage project timelines and deliverables, contributing to innovative and sustainable structural solutions.
- Perform structural analysis and design for buildings, bridges, and other civil structures.
- Develop detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications using advanced engineering software.
- Conduct site inspections and provide engineering support during construction phases.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant South African building codes and industry standards.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and project managers to integrate structural designs seamlessly.
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians in structural design principles and best practices.
- Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in structural design and analysis.
- Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is essential.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP
2000, Etabs, or equivalent. - Strong knowledge of material behavior (steel, concrete) and construction methods.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
