About the Role
Our client is seeking a specialized HVAC Mechanical Engineer to design, implement, and manage heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for their facilities in Polokwane . This role requires a deep understanding of thermal dynamics, fluid mechanics, and building systems to ensure optimal performance, energy efficiency, and occupant comfort. You will collaborate with architects, contractors, and project managers to deliver integrated HVAC solutions that meet stringent project requirements and building codes, contributing to sustainable and high-performance building environments.
Key Responsibilities- Design and specify HVAC systems, including load calculations, ductwork, piping, and equipment selection.
- Develop detailed HVAC design drawings , schematics, and specifications using CAD software.
- Conduct energy modeling and analysis to optimize system efficiency and reduce operating costs.
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of HVAC systems, ensuring compliance with design intent and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to HVAC system performance and operation.
- Stay updated on the latest HVAC technologies, building codes, and energy efficiency standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in HVAC.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC system design and project management.
- Proficiency in HVAC design software (e.g., HAP, Trace 700, Revit MEP).
- Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, psychrometrics, and air distribution principles.
- Experience with energy efficiency standards and sustainable design practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration.
