About the Role
Our client is seeking a proficient Senior Process Engineer to join their team, contributing to their Oil & Gas operations in the Polokwane region. This role is integral to designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting the complex processes involved in hydrocarbon extraction and treatment. You will play a key part in ensuring the efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance of plant operations. The ideal candidate brings a wealth of experience in process design and operational support, with a capacity to work effectively in a hybrid model.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and optimize process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
- Conduct process simulations and modeling to evaluate design alternatives and improve operational efficiency.
- Perform process hazard analyses (PHAs), such as HAZOP studies, to identify and mitigate risks.
- Provide technical support for plant operations, troubleshooting process upsets and equipment issues.
- Develop and implement process improvements to reduce costs, enhance safety, and minimize environmental impact.
- Collaborate with project teams during the design, construction, and commissioning phases of new facilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in process engineering, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II).
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and mass transfer principles.
- Experience with process safety management (PSM) and environmental regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with experience in hybrid work environments.
