Civil Engineer - Site Development and Urban Planning

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive Civil Engineer with a focus on Site Development and Urban Planning to join their team in Polokwane . This role is integral to the successful planning and execution of land development projects, including residential, commercial, and industrial sites. You will be responsible for site analysis, grading, drainage, utility design, and ensuring projects integrate seamlessly with the surrounding urban fabric.

The hybrid model allows for focused design work remotely, combined with necessary on-site assessments and client meetings.

• Conduct site feasibility studies, including topographical surveys, environmental assessments, and zoning compliance checks.
• Design site grading, stormwater management systems, and utility connections (water, sewer, electrical).
• Prepare site development plans, construction drawings, and permit applications.
• Coordinate with architects, landscape architects, and other consultants to ensure integrated design solutions.
• Oversee construction activities related to site development, ensuring adherence to design specifications and timelines.
• Liaise with municipal authorities to obtain necessary approvals and permits.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional registration (PrEng) is highly advantageous.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in site development and urban infrastructure design.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and GIS applications.
• Strong understanding of stormwater management principles, hydrology, and grading design.
