About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent Pipeline Integrity Engineer to join their team in Polokwane . This role is crucial for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the company's extensive pipeline network. You will be responsible for developing and implementing integrity management programs, including inspection, testing, and maintenance strategies, to prevent failures and ensure regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in materials science, corrosion control, and pipeline engineering.
This position offers a critical role in maintaining operational safety and environmental stewardship.
- Develop and execute comprehensive pipeline integrity management plans .
- Oversee inspection activities, including inline inspection (ILI) data analysis and direct assessment methods.
- Assess corrosion threats, structural integrity, and material defects within the pipeline system.
- Recommend and implement appropriate preventive maintenance and remediation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international pipeline safety regulations.
- Manage third-party inspection contractors and review their reports.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in pipeline integrity or a closely related field within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of corrosion mechanisms, NDT methods, and pipeline repair techniques.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ASME B31.4, B31.8, and API standards.
- Experience with integrity management software and data analysis.
- Excellent report writing and communication skills.
