Civil Design Engineer - Roads & Highways

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Civil Design Engineer with expertise in roads and highways to join their team in Polokwane. This role is essential for the planning, design, and implementation of transportation infrastructure projects throughout Limpopo. You will be responsible for developing detailed designs for roads, intersections, and associated drainage systems, ensuring they meet all engineering standards and safety requirements.

Working on‑site and in the office, you will collaborate closely with project managers, surveyors, and construction teams to deliver high‑quality infrastructure that serves the community. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to significant regional development projects.

• Design and develop plans for roads, highways, intersections, and related infrastructure, including geometric design and pavement analysis.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for road projects.
• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for new road construction and upgrades.
• Coordinate with survey teams to ensure accurate topographical data is incorporated into designs.
• Oversee construction activities to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design of roads and highways.
• Proficiency in civil design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and relevant road design packages.
• Strong knowledge of South African road design standards and guidelines.
• Experience with traffic analysis and drainage design for transportation projects is essential.
