Metallurgist - Beneficiation

Our client is seeking a dedicated Metallurgist specializing in beneficiation to join their processing plant in the Polokwane region. This role is key to optimizing the extraction and recovery of valuable minerals from raw ore. You will be responsible for process development, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of metallurgical circuits to enhance efficiency and yield. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of mineral processing techniques, and a commitment to driving operational excellence in a demanding mining environment .

• Monitor and optimize metallurgical processes for maximum mineral recovery and concentrate grade.
• Conduct laboratory and pilot plant test work to evaluate new process technologies.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and manage process control strategies.
• Analyze metallurgical data and prepare performance reports.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to ensure smooth plant functioning.

• Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mineral processing and beneficiation.
• Proven experience with various metallurgical unit operations (e.g., crushing, grinding, flotation, leaching).
• Strong understanding of process simulation and modeling software.
