Electrical Controls Engineer — Hybrid, Industrial Automation

Our client is seeking an experienced Instrumentation and Control Engineer to join their technical team in Polokwane
. This role is critical for the design, implementation, calibration, and maintenance of process control systems and instrumentation used in industrial operations. You will ensure the accurate measurement, monitoring, and control of critical process variables, optimizing efficiency and safety. Working closely with operations and engineering departments, you will play a key role in maintaining and upgrading our sophisticated control systems to meet evolving industry standards and production demands in the Limpopo province.

• Design, specify, and select appropriate instrumentation (e.g., sensors, transmitters, valves) for various industrial applications.
• Develop, program, and troubleshoot Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
• Implement and maintain control loops, ensuring optimal performance and process stability.
• Perform calibration and maintenance of instrumentation to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to identify areas for process optimization and automation improvements.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards and regulations for instrumentation and control systems.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering with a focus on control systems.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in instrumentation and control engineering within an industrial setting.
• Proficiency in programming and configuring various PLC and DCS platforms (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, Honeywell).
• Strong understanding of process control principles, loop tuning, and system integration.
