Our client is seeking a distinguished Senior Reservoir Geologist to enhance their exploration and development team in Polokwane. This role is central to understanding subsurface reservoirs, characterizing their properties, and informing optimal development strategies within the oil and gas industry. You will integrate geological, petrophysical, and engineering data to build robust reservoir models that guide drilling and production decisions. The successful candidate will possess a deep expertise in reservoir characterization and a collaborative spirit, driving value creation through meticulous geological analysis and strategic subsurface insight.
Key Responsibilities- Integrate and interpret geological, petrophysical, and engineering data to define reservoir architecture and heterogeneity.
- Develop and refine static geological models of reservoirs, including property distribution and uncertainty assessment.
- Collaborate with reservoir engineers to ensure geological models support dynamic simulation and production forecasting.
- Conduct detailed analysis of well logs, core data, and seismic attributes to delineate reservoir boundaries and evaluate quality.
- Identify sweet spots and opportunities for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) within existing fields.
- Provide geological support for drilling operations, including well planning and geological prognosis.
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geology or Petroleum Geology.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in reservoir geology, with a strong focus on the oil and gas sector.
- Proficiency with geological modeling software (e.g., Petrel, GeoX, Jewel Suite).
- Expertise in sedimentology, stratigraphy, and sequence stratigraphy.
- Strong understanding of petrophysics and its application in reservoir characterization.
