Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Power Generation

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their vital team in Polokwane , focusing on the power generation sector. This role is critical for the design, development, and optimization of mechanical systems within power plants and related infrastructure. • Lead the design and analysis of large-scale mechanical systems for power generation facilities.
• Develop detailed specifications, drawings, and models for turbines, pumps, piping, and other critical components.
• Conduct advanced stress analysis , thermal analysis, and fluid dynamics simulations.
• Oversee the procurement, installation, and commissioning of mechanical equipment.
• Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, and operations personnel to ensure project success.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant industry codes, standards, and safety regulations.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical design, with significant focus on the power generation or heavy industrial sector.
• In-depth knowledge of thermodynamic principles, fluid mechanics, and materials science relevant to power systems.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Inventor) and advanced FEA/CFD tools .
• Experience with project engineering and managing technical aspects of large infrastructure projects.
