Energy Storage Systems Integrator

Our client, a forward-thinking company at the forefront of the energy transition, is seeking a skilled Energy Storage Systems Integrator to join their growing team in Polokwane, Limpopo . This role is essential for the design, implementation, and commissioning of advanced battery energy storage systems (BESS) integrated with renewable energy projects. You will work closely with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of these critical systems.

• Design and engineer integrated solutions for battery energy storage systems (BESS), including system architecture, component selection, and control strategies.
• Develop detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control logic for BESS installations.
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of BESS, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
• Perform site assessments and feasibility studies for BESS projects.
• Collaborate with project managers, electrical engineers, and site personnel throughout the project lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during system integration, testing, and operation.
• Ensure all designs and installations comply with relevant South African electrical codes, grid codes, and industry standards for energy storage.
• Develop and deliver technical training to site personnel and clients on BESS operation and maintenance.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in BESS technology, grid integration, and renewable energy trends.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the design, integration, and commissioning of energy storage systems or power electronics.
• Strong understanding of battery technologies (Lithium-ion, etc.), inverters, converters, and control systems.
• Proficiency in using electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN) and simulation tools.
• Knowledge of grid interconnection standards and challenges for distributed energy resources.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a project-driven environment and collaborate with diverse teams.
• Familiarity with renewable energy project development cycles is a plus.
• Experience with SCADA systems and data acquisition for energy systems.
