Senior Civil Design Engineer

This role focuses on the design and delivery of various civil infrastructure projects, including roads, earthworks, and drainage systems, across the Limpopo province. • Lead the civil design process for infrastructure projects, including site development, roads, and stormwater management.
• Prepare detailed design calculations, drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
• Conduct site investigations and feasibility studies for new projects.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant South African National Standards (SANS) and municipal requirements.
• Coordinate designs with other disciplines, such as structural, electrical, and mechanical engineers.
• Manage project timelines and contribute to budget control for design aspects.
• Review designs prepared by junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and local authorities to address design queries and ensure project progress.
• Undertake site visits during the construction phase to provide design support and resolve issues.
• Stay updated on best practices and new technologies in civil engineering design.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in civil design engineering, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) registration with ECSA is required.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and other relevant design software.
• Solid understanding of geometric road design, drainage design principles, and earthworks calculations.
• Experience with environmental impact assessments and their integration into civil designs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple design tasks effectively.
• Valid driver's license and readiness to travel within the Limpopo province.
