Senior Electrical Engineer - Control Systems & Instrumentation

• Lead the design and specification of electrical control systems, including PLCs, DCS, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
• Develop detailed electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams using CAD software.
• Specify and select appropriate instrumentation for process control applications (e.g., pressure, temperature, flow, level sensors).
• Oversee the installation, commissioning, and calibration of control systems and instrumentation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to electrical systems, control logic, and instrumentation performance.
• Collaborate with process engineers, mechanical engineers, and project managers to ensure integrated design solutions.
• Ensure designs and installations comply with relevant industry standards (e.g., IEC, ISA) and safety regulations.
• Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance teams.
• Manage project documentation, including design revisions, test reports, and as-built drawings.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical engineering with a strong focus on industrial control systems and instrumentation.
• Proven expertise in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000) and HMI/SCADA development.
• In-depth knowledge of various industrial communication protocols (e.g., Profibus, Modbus, Ethernet/IP).
• Experience with process automation in sectors such as mining, manufacturing, or utilities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Familiarity with South African safety standards and regulations.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) or Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr. Eng. Tech.) designation is highly valued.
