Senior Credit Analyst

Our client, a dynamic and growing commercial bank located in Polokwane, Limpopo, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Credit Analyst to join their lending division. This role is integral to the bank's success, focusing on assessing the creditworthiness of potential and existing borrowers across various industries. You will conduct in-depth financial analysis, prepare credit reports, make recommendations on loan applications, and monitor loan portfolios to manage risk effectively.

• Analyze financial statements, cash flow projections, and other relevant data to assess borrower credit risk.
• Prepare comprehensive credit reports and present findings and recommendations to the credit committee.
• Monitor assigned loan portfolio for potential credit deterioration and ensure compliance with loan covenants.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business operations and financial needs.
• Ensure adherence to the bank's credit policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct industry and market research to support credit assessments.
• Assist in the structuring of credit facilities to meet client needs while mitigating bank risk.
• Respond to client inquiries and provide guidance on credit matters.
• Mentor and guide junior credit analysts.

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in credit analysis, lending, or a related financial role.
• Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, ratio analysis, and cash flow assessment.
• Proficiency in financial modeling and loan structuring.
• Knowledge of relevant South African banking regulations and credit practices.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Experience with loan origination and management systems is an advantage.
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
