About the Role
Our client is seeking a proficient VoIP Systems Administrator to manage and maintain their Voice over IP infrastructure. This role is essential for ensuring reliable, high-quality voice communication services for employees and customers across the organization, with a focus on operations in Polokwane . You will be responsible for the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and ongoing optimization of VoIP systems, platforms, and related hardware.
The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in VoIP technologies and a commitment to providing seamless communication solutions within the Limpopo province.
- Install, configure, and maintain VoIP systems , including PBX, soft switches, and related applications.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and resolve technical problems related to voice quality and availability.
- Manage user accounts, extensions, and feature configurations within the VoIP environment.
- Implement and manage voicemail, call routing, and unified communications features.
- Ensure the security and reliability of the VoIP network, implementing necessary patches and upgrades.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users on VoIP system functionalities.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience as a VoIP Administrator or in a similar role managing telephony systems.
- In-depth knowledge of VoIP protocols (SIP, H.323) and codecs.
- Experience with major VoIP platforms (e.g., Cisco Call Manager, Asterisk, Avaya).
- Familiarity with networking principles and troubleshooting techniques relevant to VoIP.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in Polokwane .
