About the Role
Our client is looking for a meticulous and proactive Telecoms Systems Administrator to manage and maintain their vital IT and communication systems in Polokwane . This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation and integrity of the company's telephony, data, and network infrastructure. You will be responsible for system uptime, security, and performance, supporting daily business operations. This hybrid position allows for a blend of on-site responsibilities and remote flexibility, promoting a balanced work-life integration.
Key Responsibilities- Administer and maintain various telecommunications systems, including PBX, VoIP, unified communications platforms, and related hardware/software.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls for telecommunications and IT systems.
- Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
- Perform regular system backups and ensure data integrity and disaster recovery readiness.
- Provide technical support to end-users for telecommunications and IT-related issues.
- National Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in systems administration, with a strong focus on telecoms systems .
- Proven experience with VoIP technologies, PBX systems, and unified communications platforms.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and Windows/Linux server administration.
- Experience with system monitoring tools and basic scripting for automation.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills.
- An annual salary of R , negotiable based on experience.
