NLP Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled NLP Engineer to join their growing AI team in Polokwane . You will be responsible for designing, building, and deploying natural language processing models and applications that enable machines to understand and process human language. This role involves working with large text datasets, implementing advanced NLP techniques, and integrating language capabilities into various products and services.

You will collaborate closely with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to deliver intelligent language solutions, contributing to technological innovation in Limpopo .

• Develop and implement NLP models for tasks such as text classification, sentiment analysis, named entity recognition, and machine translation.
• Utilize deep learning frameworks (e.g., Tensor Flow, PyTorch) for building and training NLP models.
• Process and analyze large volumes of text data to extract meaningful insights.
• Integrate NLP capabilities into existing and new applications and platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define NLP project requirements and deliver solutions.
• Stay abreast of the latest research and advancements in NLP and conversational AI.

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Linguistics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Natural Language Processing development.
• Proficiency in Python and relevant NLP libraries (e.g., NLTK, spaCy, Hugging Face Transformers).
• Experience with deep learning techniques applied to NLP.
• Strong understanding of text preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation for language tasks.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and MLOps practices is a plus.
