About the Role

Our client is seeking a principled and experienced Senior AI Ethics & Governance Specialist to join their team in Polokwane . In this crucial role, you will help shape the responsible development and deployment of AI technologies, ensuring alignment with ethical principles, regulatory requirements, and societal values. You will work across different departments, advising on AI ethics frameworks, conducting impact assessments, and developing governance policies.

This position requires a unique blend of technical understanding, ethical reasoning, and policy expertise. You will be instrumental in building trust and ensuring that our AI innovations are used beneficially and equitably.

• Develop and implement AI ethics guidelines, principles, and governance frameworks.
• Conduct AI ethics impact assessments and risk evaluations for new AI systems and applications.
• Advise product and engineering teams on ethical considerations throughout the AI development lifecycle.
• Monitor AI regulatory landscape and ensure compliance with relevant laws and standards.
• Develop training materials and conduct workshops on AI ethics and responsible AI practices.

• Advanced degree in Law, Policy, Ethics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in AI ethics, responsible AI, technology governance, or a related area.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts and their societal implications.
• Experience with policy development, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
